EU-Israel Gas Deal
EU-Israel Gas Deal
In 2022, Europe rushed to cut dependence on Russian gas after the invasion of Ukraine and signed a gas deal with Israel instead. That agreement was renewed in 2025, in the middle of an active genocide in Palestine. The EU doesn't depend on Israeli gas. What these deals deliver is not energy security but political legitimacy for a regime committing apartheid, occupation and genocide, while deepening fossil fuel dependence and funnelling revenues into Israel's military infrastructure. This extends Europe's complicity in the genocide through gas agreements that violate international law and Palestinian rights. The gas fields at the centre of these deals lie in illegally occupied Palestinian and Lebanese waters, extracted by corporations complicit in war crimes. Moving away from Russian gas was never a transition — it was replacing one fossil fuel dependency with another, built on stolen resources. A just transition cannot be built on occupation.
WHAT WE DO
Our advocacy targets EU policymakers, energy ministers, and financial institutions backing these projects. Through research, public pressure, and coalition-building, we're working to ensure Europe's energy transition doesn't come at the cost of Palestinian freedom and sovereignty.
Take Action
Demand European institutions reject these deals and end all trade agreements that enable Israeli genocide.
PARTICIPATE IN THE CHANGE
Everyone can play a role against energy oppression. Disrupting energy flows can be achieved at every node of the supply chain, and by challenging the infrastructure that sustains it. Join workers and communities already taking action. Pressure your bank, your pension fund, your university, your union, your government.
End energy complicity. Energy embargo now.
